IOF President Brian Porteous met with Vladimir Yakushev, Governor of Tyumen Region, yesterday to thank him for his Region’s major sponsorship of the European Ski Orienteering Championships and World Cup competitions held at the region’s outstanding Pearl of Siberia Winter Sports Centre.
The sponsorship has in particular made it possible to produce ground breaking live TV coverage of the Championships, which has been widely followed around the world. Brian Porteous said to Governor Yakushev that he hoped that the world orienteering family would be able to visit Tyumen Region again before too long.
